From Naples to Idaho: Local Leader Joins Effort to Transform Lives of At-Risk Youth

We are excited to share that Art J Deerey a well-respected Naples resident, has been officially appointed to the Board of Trustees for Chokecherry Hills Youth Ranch—a newly repurposed rehabilitation and retreat center for at-risk youth, located in the scenic heart of Idaho.

Thanks to a transformative donation from two generous Naples-based philanthropists—who chose to remain anonymous and were former clients of Mr. Deerey—Chokecherry Hills is being developed into a life-changing sanctuary offering:

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Addiction rehabilitation

  • Mentorship and guidance

  • Life skills training

  • Personal development and healing opportunities

Mr. Deerey will serve as the Remote Facility Construction Advisor, contributing his expertise in construction management, facility oversight, and long-term infrastructure strategy. His role is essential in leading the design and improvement of the ranch’s physical space to support its healing mission.

“Being asked to be part of this mission is a privilege,” Deerey shared. “With children of my own, saying yes was immediate. The only challenge so far? Figuring out where Idaho is! Paying it forward is something I believe in.”

This initiative connects Naples-based philanthropy with Idaho Wilderness Healing LLC, a Florida-registered nonprofit organization focused on helping vulnerable youth recover and grow in nature-based settings. It’s a powerful example of how one community’s compassion can ripple across the country.
