😘 An Arduy in 2025

For RR, 2025 was a really challenging year. They gave it their all, but they lacked sufficient wins to qualify for the playoffs. 

Their final game against Mumbai Indians was somewhat challenging, and they lost by 100 runs.

Still, RR kept strong even in these trying circumstances. Knowing they had something more significant—a team full of future stars—they did not feel depressed for very long.

🏃 What Went Wrong?

In cricket, the game gets really close at times, and you have to act appropriately and at the right moment. RR missed a few close calls this season.

They failed in the last over against Delhi Capitals and even fell in the Super Over.
Though they were so near, Lucknow Super Giants couldn’t finish the game.
Though they only needed a few runs, RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) lost still.

“We were so close to winning, but just couldn’t do the small things right in the final minutes,” the coach added.

😟 Dropped Catches – Mistakes!

Fielding was one area this season that didn’t go so great. Fielding is stopping runners after capturing the ball. 

But RR dropped several catches this time. A few of the players from the other sides scored large runs and had extra chances.

Coach Yagnik advised:

Although we have always been a top team in fielding, this year was simply not our finest. That’s fine; occasionally, in cricket, this is the case.

💥 Thanks Where It’s Due

RR tried their best, although Mumbai Indians performed quite brilliantly. Batting so brilliantly, players like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya made RR’s bowlers unable to stop them.

The coach did not feel the wrath. Rather, he declared:

We have to honour them. They performed quite brilliantly; occasionally, that’s how the game goes.

🧠 A Thoughtful Strategy Not Working

RR chose to bowl first before the game. That means RR would chase the runs later while the other team bats first. 

Later, they believed dew—a little water on the grass that facilitates ball slide—might show up and ease batting.

Still, the pitch was a little lethargic as the dew failed to arrive. RR had trouble batting second as a result. Still, their concept was sound; they simply were unlucky.

🎯 Hope Looking Ahead

RR isn’t depressed, even though they didn’t win this year. The reason is… Because they are creating something very outstanding. Training young players like Vaibhav, Sanju, and Yashasvi is their responsibility.
